A little bit about NIC NAC PADDYWAC'S owners - Susan and Tricia
In November of 2007, Susan Alarcon and her sister Tricia Knudsen, were celebrating their completion of a complete remodel of Tricia's home, but true to their multi-tasking personalities, they started exploring the possibility of opening an Occasional Store, even though both were employed full time. They decided to take the plunge and go for it. That might sound impulsive but not for these women who are always looking for an exciting, new challenge.
Their vision for the store is to provide a fun, affordable shopping experience for their customers. "We want our customers to experience that priceless feeling you get when you come across the perfect piece."
Tricia, brings to the store her many years of experience at collecting, junking and going to auctions. She has a broad knowledge of collectibles and is a self-taught handyperson who knows her way around power tools, and a hammer and a saw. Her mantra is "never throw anything away." She can find a way to use just about everything. Tricia is also a landscape designer and expert on trees and shrubs.

A resident of Osseo and an interior designer, Susan, also a collector but more towards the furniture side, has a great sense of color and loves to get creative with redesigning, staging and making the store a fun and exciting experience for the customers. Combining their skills seemed like a natural fit. "We have a way of complimenting each other's skills. "What one doesn't like to do, the other does."
Susan and Tricia are both committed to a "green" life style. For them that means recycling, reusing, and repurposing. It is their belief that "old is new," it just needs a little glue or a fresh coat of paint. They both have a practical side as well and believe that good design should be functional and beautiful.
Because of their unique skills, NIC NAC PADDYWAC'S can offer its customers a great place to shop, including interior design services, redesigning, and staging. Both Susan and Tricia believe that today more than ever a home is a place to de-stress and recharge. "Our homes provide us with a place of comfort and peacefulness, a place we are proud to share with family and friends."
